Session 4: What is the meaning and mission of your Living Elderhood? (July 2) Living Elderhood invites ways of being that move toward reconciliation, holistic well-being, and communal harmony. We share conversations in the Spirit on prayer, encounters with Divinity, and actions of compassionate love as touchpoints to exploring Living Elderhood. How do the decades of your life bring you to this moment of Living Elderhood? Standing in this moment, what does Living Elderhood mean to you? How do your actions of compassionate love and your relationship with Divinity give meaning to your Living Elderhood? What are the routines, rituals, roles, and horizons of your Living Elderhood? What is the meaning and mission of Living Elderhood?
For three consecutive days of Masses in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Novena prayers and litany will be prayed at the conclusion of each Mass.
Please join us as we pray for the mercy, compassion, and peace found in the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Session 3: How do you love others in your Elderhood? (June 25) How do you love others in your Elderhood? There are many ways to pour out compassionate love. There is the love that recognizes the realities of old age with grace, humor, and perspective. There is love for our families and for our friends that lends a helping hand, shares conversations, and offers steadfast accompaniment. There is love for our communities that can be inspired by social justice, a desire to reach those at the margins, to be stewards of our planet, to ensure life for generations. These and many other forms of love can be bolstered by religious traditions and teachings which connect us to ourselves and others. These many forms of love can be supported by our relationship with God and the ways that we understand God. What are the religious and divine sources of inspiration for you to love others? What are the actions of compassionate love that you engage in for your family, your friends, your community, your world? How does reckoning with the realities of old age free you to love others? How do you love others in your Elderhood?

Session 2: How do you encounter God in your Elderhood? (June 18) How do you encounter God in your Elderhood? There are many ways in which we encounter God. There are times of powerful, rapturous, mystical, and profound union with God; moments that are hard to put into words, but are real. There are experiences of anger, frustration, doubt, abandonment, and fear that challenge our connection with God. There are moments in our lives when we feel deep inner peace, joy, wonder, awe, gratitude, connection with all life, and compassionate love for and from others. How do you describe God in these experiences of encounter? What are these moments of encounter with God for you? What are the feelings you experience during your encounters with God? How do you encounter God in your Elderhood?

Session 1: How do you pray in your Elderhood? (June 11) How do you pray in your Elderhood? There are many styles of prayer. There are personal forms of prayer that include standard prayers such as the rosary or devotional prayers, there is honest conversation with God in colloquy, talking with God, listening to God, reading Scriptures, daily inspirational meditations, moments of reflection, seasonal or religious prayer books. There are also communal forms of prayer such as Mass, faith formation sharing, and collective prayer. These prayers occur in many places such as church, at home, on walks through the park or around the neighborhood, beside restful waters, while listening to music, and in other places of sanctuary. What are the styles of prayer most common for you? How do practice connecting with God through prayer in your daily life? Where are those places of sanctuary that fortify your prayer? How do you pray in your Elderhood?
